We are an Australian company committed to delivering a high-quality solar farm that makes a positive contribution.
Australian Solar Enterprises was founded in 2021 by two passionate individuals who want to help Queensland achieve its climate goals.
The founders are supported by a highly qualified and experienced group of consulting partners with a combined 75+ years in development approvals and the renewables industry.
The team is focused on ensuring that the Tumuruu Solar development is world class and will provide value to our stakeholders.
Australian Solar Enterprises understand that development can create impacts on surrounding areas, and we will work with the community to ensure impacts are mitigated wherever possible, and benefits are shared among the community, the surrounding area, Queensland and the nation through renewable energy generation.
Our Approach:
Our approach is to design and deliver a large-scale project that moves the renewable sector forward to help meet the Australian climate targets. We are proposing a low-profile, high density solar solution that will limit visual impact and conserve agricultural land whilst delivering benefits to the community.
Our current design has the benefit of:
Less development impacts than traditional solar farms:
Community benefits:
The engineering, procurement and construction process will be managed by an Australian company with a demonstrated ability to deliver regional projects on time and on budget.
The 673-hectare site is situated at the northernmost point of Bowman Road, Taromeo. The site has been used for cattle grazing for many years. There have been attempts in the past to use the land for crops, however the soil has proven not to be of sufficient quality. The solar farm will use approximately 49% of the site. The site has two existing 275KV transmission lines running through the property, reducing the need to erect additional transmission lines in the local area. These lines supply Brisbane and Southeast Queensland with energy, including from the Tarong coal fired power station, located twenty kilometres west of the site, which is scheduled to decommission in 2035. The energy generated by the solar farm will be supplied into the Powerlink wholesale network using the existing high voltage transmission lines on the property.
Australian Solar Enterprises respectfully acknowledge the Traditional Custodians and pay respects to their Elders, past, present and emerging.
